Junior Hurlers lose out to Kilworth

Our junior hurlers took to the field recently in this junior B encounter with Kilworth for a place in the north cork final. Glanworth was the venue, and our lads were u-p for the encounter. Kilworth opened with the first two points util sean Kelly was to respond with a point. The unerring accuracy of Kelly was the difference in keeping us in touch in the first half where he accounted for five of the six points scored. Kilworth were strong and their canny full forward line were to use their wit to score two eight by the time the first half was over. We had amassed a goal and seven at this stage. Jack and padriag had also got themselves on the score sheet. That lead was to prove unassailable and when we emerged at the second half with wasn’t for the want of trying with Cian Coughlan getting on the score sheet a view times but Kilworth had started the half strong and continued to dominate running out eventual winners of a score line of one thirteen to three fifteen. Kilworth now go on to meet newtownshandrum in the final. Hard luck to our lads this year. Thanks for everything that you have done.

The lotto team old and new were on hand ,The hatch Team, parking ,the scoreboard , the ground looked great, and we had another first and the dawn of a new generation when we had three brothers David, Padraig and Cathal harrington along with Eugene and Tony scanning people in. Thanks again everybody. A great match for the club to host.

Bingo Volunteers

Bingo volunteers. Over the course of the last few years the GAA club and the community work together to host bingo for locals and nearby neighbours every Friday night. This provides a very welcome outlet for people to meet other people in a social gathering. Both organisations use the funds to support each of their own costs throughout the year and these are greatly welcomed. If you are interested in volunteering a few times a year can you leave Marie Collin’s, or I know please? Volunteers are always welcomed and ensured that we can keep the bingo going. The rota is updated every few months and tries to accommodate people in terms of what is feasible for them. Thank you.
