We had an early start to our playing year, when our Intermediate footballers lined out against Naomh Abhan, in the Tom Creedon Cup Competition, at the home venue, last Sunday afternoon.  Played in heavy underfoot competitions, Kildorrery emerged victorious on the score 0-12 to 1-7.

Both sides used the game to give all available players a chance. While lack of fitness at this time of the year, is understandable, the management team were pleased with the effort of all the players and plan on getting started on a training programme in the near future.

While our boys started slowly, with only two points to their credit at the break, at which point the visitors led 1-3 to 0-2.  However, Kildorrery put in a great second half display to run out winners on the above score.

Team and scorers:  Liam Kelly, Cormac O’Baoill, Tom Paul Murphy, Jerry McCarthy, Michael Walsh, Finbarr Stapleton, Sean Kelly, Fintan Daly, Shane Fitzgerald 0-1, James O’Sullivan, 0-2, Peter O’Brien 0-1, Shane O’Neill 0-1, Tom Monaghan 0-3, Stevie Coughlan 0-1f, David Kelly 0-1.
