Festival Fast Approaching

By now you will have seen the festival line up for this year which boasts the inclusion of the very impressive Mike Denver who is sure to attract a very large crowd. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be outlining key timelines where help will be required. This may involve chair moving etc so any help will be greatly appreciated. The committee is hard at work as we speak and the community can look forward to a great weekend. It is hoped that al hands will be on deck for the week preceding and the weekend itself.

 

Lotto

There was no winner of the Lotto this week. The numbers drawn were 3-14-19-30.

100 Club Winner

The 100 club winners drawn this week were €200 Aine O Connor, €80 Tom Jackson,€80 John and Louise Geary.

 

Fundraising Opportunity

Volunteers Needed - must be over 18 yrs (male or female).

AOS Security Management, Cork are offering an opportunity to work for them as Stewards for the upcoming Elton John Concert in Pairc Ui Chaoimh for his show on July 1st. This is part of the Iconic Elton John Farewell yellow brick road tour.

You don’t even have to be a member of the club. Bring a friend if you wish.

All monies earned go directly to the Kildorrery GAA, Ladies Football & Camogie Club.

This is a fantastic opportunity to see a music legend, catch a free concert and help support our club.

Bingo

Bingo continues in the hall on a Friday night at 8pm. The Jackpot is in excess of €2000. If anybody would like to volunteer to help at the Bingo on a rota basis please contact Kerena Gallagher or Marie Conner.

 

Catering Van

The club through the resourcefulness of Peter Watson have acquired a catering van which we hope to use in for fixtures and events at the field. This will take effort and volunteerism to man the stall from time to time. If you wish to help please let any of the club members know.

 

Results

The club played out a draw in the intermediate hurling league with courcey rovers. This was described as a good work out for the boys with lots of positives taken from the match.

Our intermediate footballers lost to Uibh Laoire on a scoreline of 1 10 to 0 11 points. This was another good run out and the guys are preparing hard for championship. We will have those fixtures later in the month.

Ladies Fixtures

At the time of writing we are awaiting conformation of times for our proposed fixture against Brian Dillions. Please watch club media for announcements.

  • 13/6 - U14 D3 Football championship Final v Mayfield in Castletownroche @ 7pm
  • 15/6 - U14 D3 Hurling Shield Final v Millstreet/Charleville in Buttevant at 7pm
  • 18/6 - U13 Football league v Ballycastle Gaels in Ballyhooley & 11am

 

Cul Camps

The Cul camps are being run from the 4th to 8th of July this year.

We are in the process of trying to find coaches for the week.

If anyone here is available for a day or for even a few hours to help out coaching you can reach out to Will Fouhy or let one of the officers know.

Congrats to john Fouhy who is part of the Avondhu selection committee on their recent win. Congrats to all players who are involved from the club too.

 

Votes of Sympathy

Votes of Sympathy were passed to Gerdy Murphy on the passing of his late mother and also to Willie Kearney on the passing of his mother Ellen. Ar dheis Dhaoibh!
