Under 13’s Win league final

On Saturday morning our U13s played a brilliant league final against Kilshannig and came up trumps again on a score line of 5-12 to 4-04. This was a magnificent display of determination and the abiding sense from the match is that the future is bright for Kildorrery with this crop of players playing brilliantly. Kilshannig put up a fine display which made for a very entertaining morning in shanballymore. Well done to all involved again.

Intermediate Hurlers

Our intermediate hurlers took to the field Saturday in the third round of this round robin series. This was a game of two halves for our lads after a sluggish start we found ourselves trailing by a goal after sars converted a penalty early on. This was after Dylan Kent had opened the scoring with a well taken point. The first half was a difficult thirty minutes of hurling as we trailed at the break a goal and five points to three goals and six points and even after Luke Keating at goaled to level up proceedings after twenty Minutes Sars responded immediately with a goal and went on to get another just before the break. Sean Kelly was brought on for Fintan daly in the first half. Our first half accuracy without a shadow of a doubt was slightly out kilter so the team will work to address that over the coming weeks.

As the second half got under way Dave Kelly was introduced and made an immediate impression by scoring a goal and a point and after sixteen minutes the sides were level which was a fantastic turnaround from the first half. Cathal Harrington was introduced for Dylan. Kildorrery will rue some of the missed chances in the second half and with eight wides it may have had a different complexion on the score line, but Sars had seven wides in the second half, and we must reflect on that also.

As the teams were level at one point, we had hoped that we might nick it but that wasn’t to be and Sars went on to tack a few over to grab and maintain the lead.

The final score line was Three goals and ten points to two goals and eleven points. While the second half was a big improvement on the first, they will be glad that we have time to regroup to prepare for the next outing versus Lisgoold which promises to be a great encounter.
